Camera Critter: Puppy Love

Sometimes you have those AWWWW moments when you realize your pets are loving, they are just like the kids sometimes. Our dogs will chase each other around the house most of the day but they have those occasions when they get cuddled up and are just too cute. We had a couple of those moments this week and we were actually able to get the camera and save the memories, normally if one of us move the dogs pop up and we miss the moment. Enjoy the sibling love...

Camera Critters Crazy Animals you've never seen

I recently found this animal that I have never seen before and I bet you haven't either. It is called a Zony and it is the offspring of a zebra stallion and a pony mare. It is considered a Hybrid Animal that is created by selected breeding, like a puggle dog which is a mix of pug and beagle. I have a whole collection of hybrid animals that I will start sharing with you all over the next few weeks.

Camera Critter: Ugly Spider

We spent the day cutting down the old Apple Tree in the back yard, it was an interesting experience to say the least. I had an opportunity to see all kinds of different critters and bugs, when we were finishing up I found this giant spider crawling around the debris. This spider was big, about the size of an oreo cookie and was pretty freaky looking. I have never seen a spider like this one and would love to know what type of spider it was if anyone knows.

Looking back on Summer

This summer our family had a unique vacation trip with our daughters dance school to NY City. We had spent a year planning this trip and to finally get to go and take in so many great events while we were there was fantastic. We took tours of the city, participated in dance workshops and took in musicals "Shrek, Billy Elliot" and of course spent some time shopping around. Even though we had many activities planned we still had some down time that I would have loved to have things planned for. I heard about some very cool walking tours new york that could have been a lot of fun. They are very reasonably priced and allow you to take a guided tour of many wonderful sites and eating establishments. We weren't home for a day when we were talking about wanting to go back again to take in all the other things we missed out on and to take the rest of the family back with us.

Deals 2 good to be true but they are

I had to go to Sobeys tonight, I usually dislike shopping there but with a buy1 get 2 free sale I had no choice, I had to check it out. I managed to buy 2 hams and got 4 free and potatoes the same thing. What a deal I almost had an Ikea moment while I was heading out the door. You know the commercial "Start the Car" I thought it was a great deal for sure and the kids will love having ham and potato suppers for the next few weeks.

Ride the Road

There is nothing like the feeling of the wind in your face as you cruise down the highway. The freedom you feel as you ride your bike down the road, whether you are by yourself or riding with a group it is an incredible feeling. It takes a little work to keep a bike in good working order and as always it is important to keep your ride looking it's best too. It is a lot of fun to order customized parts to add a little personality to the ride and really make it feel like your own. I have been considering all kinds of different accessories from memphis shades to saddle bags and a custom seat. I am planning on getting some new accessories so I can work away on the bike over winter and be ready to hit the road come Spring.

It's coming down

We have deliberated for 3 summers but I think we are finally decided that the old apple tree in the back yard is coming down. This tree is giant and literally drops 10's of thousands of apples every year. It would be ok if the apples would mature enough to use but they don't and they start dropping around May and go all summer making the yard virtually useless. We want to set up our pool and deck in the corner of the yard that the tree is in as well. We have many other trees in our yard so it won't be too bad without the old tree. I will miss it for the one week that it blossoms in the spring but that is about it.

Looking for a uniform shirt

My company is instituting a casual day at work that is to take place every Friday. For us we are raising money for one of our charities and we wanted to have a uniform shirt that we could all wear to identify us as employees and have a professional embrodiered message on our shirts. We decided to turn to an online company to take advantage of bulk purchasing and save us money. We managed to find a great site that offered all kinds of different logo apparel at really reasonable pricing. The company that we found still has in house production and offers personalized service to make sure you are comfortable with your order and the process. Casual Fridays will soon be very organized for all of us.

I'm Back

Well it has been a month and it is time for me to return to my blog. I had to take the time away because we were renovating our kitchen (I will post pictures soon) and I was focusing on getting the kids back into their routines with school. I think we are almost back to normal so I will start to phase my blogging activity back into my evenings.

Heads or Tails Steamy Experience

Heads Or Tails

This is my first visit to the Heads or Tails experience an opportunity for bloggers to unite and discuss the topic of the week, this week the Heads theme is :

HEADS - "Steam"Make any kind of post using any form of the theme/prompt "Steam."

I was shopping through the local "Zellers" today and came accross a 2 person Sauna on sale for only 499, it appears to be a great deal as the regular retail is listed at $1000. It even comes with a spot to plug your MP3 into it to enjoy your latest tunes while the warm "Steam" soothes your aching muscles. If only I could think of somewhere to put it I would have it home by now.

King of pop Murdered

I came accross a news artical today that reports that the Cornoner in the Michael Jackson case has reported that there were leathal doeses of drugs administered to the "king of pop" before he died. The combination of drugs given were linked directly to his death and with the results it is very likely charges will be brought against the doctor that was caring for Michael when he died. Check out the Artical on the Coroners Report by hitting the link.

Camera Critter : Crazy Insect

I came accross this picture of a Rhinocerous Beetle the other day and have been saving it to share with all of you, this guy is about 6" and I hear they actually can grow to about 11", I think I wouldn't want to meet up with one, but they apparently are very docile.

camera Critter : R U Comfy?

It's a lot of fun having a new pup around the house, you never know where you are going to find him. The other night I went to tuck the boys into bed and when I returned to the living room here was Riley...Relaxing. I was trying so hard not to bust out laughing so I could get the shot of him before he stirred.

Scenic Sunday : Newfoundland Ferry

I took this shot last night here at the beach while the kids were waiting for the Fireworks. This is one of the ferry's that carry passangers to Newfoundland, no not the one that caught on fire this week and was in the news. I thought it looked really cool with the lights on, you can see the nose is up and they are loading vehicals on at this point. The fireworks were really great but I wasn't able to get many good shots to share. There is another Fireworks display going off tonight and I hope to be able to share those next week.

It's very exciting having a new puppy in our home, although our first beagle is only 1 year old we couldn't pass up the opportunity when we found out her mother was going to have another batch of pups and that they would be a full blood relative to Breigh. He is doing a pretty good job training and we feel like he is about a month ahead of were Breigh was.

Briegh and Riley have become quick buddies and here they are snuggling on the way home for the first time together.

Go figure here they are sleeping yet again

Like a kid, Riley can fall asleep almost anywhere at anytime

Here's Briegh trying to pose pretty, don't forget about me guys I'm still adorable.

Poor Riley he was tuckered out after a long day

Scenic Sunday : Beach Sunset

I was recently organizing the pictures off our computer and came across this shot I took of my wife last summer on a trip to the beach with the kids. I totally love this picture of her with the sun setting in the background. I remember the day, it was a very relaxing trip to the beach and everyone was just kind of winding down at the end of the day. Carrie was wondering around the beach and she seemed so peaceful and relaxed. You would have to appreciate our lifestyle it seems as though you never get to relax and just be together and the times you actually do you are normally too tired to enjoy the moment. This was one of those nights when all was just right.

Camera Critters : What do you think happened here?

To participate in camera critters click HERE!

While my wife was at work one evening I decided to have a pool/campfire party with the kids. We were all having a great time and even the dog "Breigh" was getting in on the fun.

Here is Trin and Blake roasting up some marshmellows over the campfire while Kohl and Jay were enjoying the pool. Breight is really taking notes on what the kids are doing isn't she, we should have known she was up to NO GOOD!

She got here opportunity when the kids went in for a drink and she snuck their extra marshmallows out of the cup holder in the chair. She is quite the scavenger when her nose gets a smell of something good.

I love the beautiful creatures of the sea, one of my favorites is the Humpback Whale, it is such a shame to see the dire condition this species is in. I certainly hope these gracious creatures can find a way to survive for generations to come.

Camera Critters: Flight of the Dragon

To participate in camera critters click HERE!

On a recent visit to my parents house (2 weeks ago) we were sitting outside on their patio chairs having a nice chat while the sun was getting ready to set and the kids were playing around the yard. All of a sudden out of no where arrived a bunch of Dragon Flies. I was shocked as I hadn't seen a Dragon Fly in a number of years it was exciting to see a bunch of them all at once and they were big too! I managed to get a picture of one as it took a breather on the chair it was very beautiful. We are heading back for another visit next weekend and hopefully we will get to see some more fun animals/insects.

Camera Critters : On the Road Again Comedy Style

Stopping for a pit stop on the side of the road, read story below. LOL

Time for a nap, it's hard work being a hound dog.

To participate in camera critters click HERE!

We had a hilarious experience with our pup on a trip home to visit the grandparents this weekend. About an hour into the trip the dog started to act crazy and was sniffing at the air vents and travelling back and forth in the van. We finally decided to stop and let her take a nature call before heading back on our journey. This didn't work for her, after we were back on the road for a bit she started acting up again, going at the vents. We finally figured it out the Air Conditioner was sucking the smell from an open bag of dog treats at my feet up through the vents and filling the van with bacon goodness. Poor Breigh she was trying desperately to figure out where the smell of her favorite treats were coming from and finally she got them. Then to make it even more fun we went bowling last night with the kids and Grandpa sat in my seat, he picked up the bag of treats in the dark and I was telling him how great they were and cheap too thinking he could see the bag was dog treats, oops, Grandpa tried one and wasn't long spitting it out.

Our new member of the Family : Riley

We met our new pup "Riley" this weekend and here are some great pictures of our little guy interacting with the new family. Here he is with Breigh, and Carrie and we were having a great time with this little fella. We can't wait until we can get him home with us in a few weeks.

Carrie trying to part herself from the little fella before we headed for home, it was hard and I think she had tears in her eyes on the way.

Here is the cute little guy.

The kids have been very excited about getting to Transformers 2 so that will be our plan for tommorrow. We have been watching the previews for weeks and are very excited to see what Optimus and Bumblebee will be getting themselves into this time around. The kids really love going to the movies, and I really like to take them.

Loose Cannons

Boys will be Boys now won't they, the boys were using Grandpa's truck for some entertainment and were pretending to be army men. They would bunch up with their toy guns and imagine themselves in a battle. They even did a big leap out of the back of the truck, Kohl did a cool roll when he landed and jumped up like nothing ever happend and went back to the hay field on the side on the side of the house for some hidden camo action.

Taking names, they are getting ready for the battle

Kohl in mid leap off the back, you should have seen him tuck and roll.

Jay with the combat pose, off he goes, he's probably lucky that Grandpa wasn't watching when he was leaping over the side.
